Midweek Magnolias Midway Reminder

Happy Wednesday, Friends! First just let me just say, “THANK YOU” to all of my fabulous friends for the lovely birthday wishes yesterday. I had a wonderful day. I spent some time in my craft room with no distractions. Hubby and I had lobster for dinner and he bought me jewelry. Yay!!! A beautiful three ring set with large ivory, black and white pearls. I asked for a ring with a white and black pearl which I didn't have in my jewelry armoire. He has bought me lots of precious stones over the years but I didn't have pearls. This one takes the cake, I truly love them. I was spoiled rotten and it was such a lovely day.

Anywho, I have a new project for our Midway Reminder for the “Anything but a card” challenge. You still have a week to join us at Midweek Magnolias.

If you create something with the theme and follow our ROOLZ, you could have a chance to win a Mystery prize from Magnolia Sweden.

I thought I would make something special that I can use for home decor during the holidays so I found a fabulous Snowflake Lantern on the Silhouette Cameo web site. My lanterns feature three new Magnolias from the Winter Wonderland collection, “Christmas Eve Tilda,” “Peaceful Tilda,” and “Merry Christmas Tilda” all from the Magnolia-licious store.  Each one is a little different using individual colors, Magnolias and ribbons.

I colored all of my Magnolias with Copics and cut them out to attach them to each lantern. I put a battery operated tea light in each for that soft glowing effect.

I hope my project inspires you to join us for the challenge. Have a great Thanksgiving for those who are celebrating it and have a fabulous week.

Magnolia-licious Doily Challenge

Hello, Friends. It’s time for another fun challenge at Magnolia-licious. Our theme for the last challenge of the year is…

Use a Doily!

My card features “Cozy Christmas Tilda” and “A Joyful Christmas” sentiment from the New Winter Wonderland collection. I used three doilies on my card with two Magnolia Mini Doilies and Tim Holtz On the Edge Vintage Doily.

I colored Tilda with Copics in blue and brown to match my Bo Bunny Woodland Winter designer papers. And I used a dotted coloring technique to make Tilda’s sweater look fluffy. My DP panels were machine stitched and distressed for lots of texture. I played with lots of die cuts for this card with tags, flourishes, lace and flowers.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the DT blogs and/or the Challenge blog for a chance to win a weekly prize. The winner is announced every week during the “W”ednesday post.

Magnolia-licious Holiday Hop - Canvas Christmas Stocking

Welcome, Friends. Today starts a new special Holiday Blog Hop. The Magnolia-licious DT and the Scor-Pal DT have joined up with lots of inspiration for you. So, if you arrived here from Abby’s blog then you are on the right track. If you need to start at the beginning all you need to do is click on this Magnolia-licious Challenge blog link. There you can read about the rules and the fun activities we have planned for you.

For my Holiday Hop project I made a canvas Christmas stocking. I stamped several Magnolia holly images randomly on the front side of the stocking and colored them with Copics. I also colored “The Day Before Christmas Stocking Tilda” from the 2013 Winter Wonderland collection that I got from Magnolia-licious; she is the perfect stamp for my project. I matted her on a new die cut frame from Marianne Design with a little Aged Ivory Frantage around her.

I added some pretty die cut Poinsettias, Merry Christmas text heat embossed on the new Magnolia banner stamp, scattered rhinestones, red feather trim, gold jingle bells and a pretty pearl button that I made myself.

Here’s a close up of Tilda in her traditional red and green Christmas dress. She is so adorable.

Ok, so on to the fun stuff…

There are 3 ways you can win a prize from the Magnolia-licious store.

Then email your completed message to Suzanne Dean at sjdean0574@yahoo.comOne winner will be chosen randomly from those who submitted the correct message and will receive a Surprise Gift Package worth $50 in value.

2. Join us with a Holiday/Winter theme project of your own and upload to the inlinkz on the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog by December 31.

There will be 2 winners chosen. The first place winner will receive a Surprise Gift Package worth $100 in value. The runner up will receive a Surprise Gift worth $50 in value.

Sounds like fun, right? OK, I don’t have any letters for you to collect on my blog, instead I have a CLUE to help you unscramble that message.

I decided to make a Thanksgiving card that features “Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms” from the 2012 Turning Leaves collection. She is colored in Copics with a machine stitched edge around her frame. The card shape is a Go Kreate XXL die. I cut two sizes and then used the inside of the die to cut my designer paper.

3D Shadow Boxes NOW at Magnolia-licious

Hello and Happy Friday, Magnolia Fans!

I have a new project to share with you. Magnolia-licious is now carrying 3D Shadow Box kits by La-La Land Crafts in the store. I so love these and have purchased several of them myself, so you’ll be seeing new projects in the coming weeks with these fabulous kits.

My Christmas Shadow Box features “In the Snow Scarf Tilda” and “In the Snow Heart Tilda” from the 2013 Winter Wonderland collection. I created a winter snowball fight scene with these two darling stamps. My Magnolias are colored with Copics and cut out for the scene. For "In the Snow Heart Tilda," I cut her little heart snowballs and attached them with acetate strips so they appear to be suspended in midair.

I added several elements of my own as well as those that are included in the kit. I used the Magnolia Snowy Forest die for my trees with a bit of Snow Writer and Glamour Dust for added texture and sparkle. I also hand cut my snowy hills and layered them for a 3 dimensional look. The hills got a coat of Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz in Spun Sugar for shine. I love the mixed media of Shimmerz Paints and you’ll see lots more on my cards and projects.

Here’s another view of the Shadow Box. This is so fun to decorate and put together.

I hope you've enjoyed my project. Check out the adorable Shadow Box kits in the Magnolia-licious store. Diana gives 2% store credit on each purchase. So stop over and pick up yours before they're all gone. They make great gifts and favors for those special family and friends on your holiday gift list.
